8th Grade Art

This is a new page for my 8th Grade Art Students

I am so excited to start this year. We are going to have a lot of fun in art. I have a lot new ideas for projects this year and I am going to try some new things out. We are really going to focus on teaching appropriate behaviors and finding our creative edge. But mostly we are going to develop you into a secure artist. Again we will focus on multiple types of media (materials) and processes but we are going to look at making sure we really pushing through to show our true artist.

Our first project will focus op art. Optical art is making pieces that fool the eye, which is going to be our main focus in the assignment. To enhance this feeling of illusion or fooling of the eye, we will also begin practicing using value. For this project I will be looking at your ability to create an illusion and your use of value.

Our second project is going to teach you all about nature. We will learn a new techniques to using watercolors and I will learn right along with you. We will also continue our practice of value but will also add in contrast. For this project I will be looking at your composition or organization of objects in your picture and your use of value and contrast.
